Blue Man Group is okay, but jeez, those ticket prices. A far cheaper
alternative is BluMann downtown at the Omaha Lounge. He wears a wool
ski mask spraypainted blue and bangs on a PVC pipe in time to Dick Dale
recordings. It's just the one pipe, so he's very limited, melody-wise,
but he's got pretty good rhythm most of the time. Then for the grand
finale ("Misirlou" of course) he has trash bags full of confetti that
he tosses all over the audience. They reuse the same confetti for each
show, so it's kind of dusty and grimy and it has cigarette butts mixed
in, but hey, for the price of a drink...

Despite all the bashing of it lately, MYSTERE remains my favorite show in Vegas.
I've seen ALOT of them, and I have plenty to compare it to...
Here's my breakdown...
Mystere - Best show!
O - Decent, but not as good as Mystere
Zumanity - Lame! (But really nice theater!)
Danny Gans - okay, not but not worth it at all!
Splash - worst show in town
Blue Man Group - Love it...saw it twice!
Penn & Teller - Great, helps if you're already a fan, though!
Rita Rudner - Excellent
George Wallace - Very funny!
Jubilee - Great show! Good value!
Elton John "The Red Piano" - Great show, but too expensive!
Bottoms Up - sucked real bad!
Skintight - very fair...
Lance Burton - Excellent! Loved it!
La Femme - cool, but redundant
I'll be seeing We Will Rock You, and KA, in about 3 weeks... So, I hope to have nice things to say about those! >> Stay informed about: What is the best show in Las Vegas? |

>Splash - worst show in town
I loved this one, but it was many years ago, before it went to Splash II
and then finally back to just plain Splash.
>Blue Man Group - Love it...saw it twice!
One of the best I've seen in Las Vegas, if not *THE* best.
>Rita Rudner - Excellent
Agreed! She can be hilarious without being crude. She has a delivery
style that is quite unique.
>Lance Burton - Excellent! Loved it!
Saw him way back at the old Hacienda. He was great then. Definitely on
the do-again-maybe list.
>I'll be seeing We Will Rock You, and KA, in about 3 weeks... So, I hope
>to have nice things to say about tho
And, both of those are on the see-it list. <!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: What is the best show in Las Vegas? |

You got it, Pete!
I'll definitely give you my trip report, as soon as I get back. It should be interesting. In addition to the shows, we're staying at 4 different hotels over 6 nights! (Flamingo, THEhotel, Harrahs, Paris)
Leaving on Jan.1, and taking the red-eye home late on Jan.7 / early Jan.8. Look for my report shortly after I return! >> Stay informed about: What is the best show in Las Vegas? |

I know I'm in the minority here (and in the world!) but I hated the BMG. I
spent the whole time looking at my watch, wondering when it would be over, and
thinking how sophomoric the act was --- something some stoned college students
would think of some night, and say, "oooohhh.. let's do this.. it will be SO
funny"

You've just described how 80% of American Entertainment is originated.

What is the best sidewalk in Vegas, the best wall, the best building? Wanna
share some parameters? What are you looking for in your "best"?
"Best" is so subjective.

It IS, unless it's coming out of YOUR mouth, in which case "best" is
180 degrees from what a NORMAL person would think.
