Well, they still advertise every Sunday, don't they? It is a cliff
hanger running a small one but these consolidators (bucketshops) may do
tremendous volume. They work very hard to make it. They are selling
odd blocks of tickets on flights not fully booked for various
reasons...perhaps not enough Kiwanis to fill the 777 on Thursday to
Berlin .. all kinds of stories.
One of my funny adventures was a $350 RT ticket to Milan from SF. I
arrive at 33xx33 Tours in the basement of an old Victorian house in
the Civic Center area of SF to encounter the owners.. three joyous
young Pakistani brothers who sat me down with tea and cookies and
stories and jokes about their backpacking travels as students. I found
out a lot about their business and it turns out their mainstay was
large groups flying together to all parts of South Asia. They were
sorely disappointed that they couldn't sell me a ticket to India as
soon as I returned from Italy
